Batting is not that easy

There he was with his luminous pink bat handle, hitting the living daylights out of a cricket ball.

"Hitting it hard" doesn't really do justice to the experience, though; he was flaying the ball, hitting it with such awesome force that I thought the bat blade was going to crack or break.

For a moment or two I was speechless, just happy to watch Hayden go about his work.

As no doubt you will at some point over the coming days curse some South African team players, spare a thought for how good the guys are.
