1954: Alice Krige is born in Upington in what is now the Northern Cape.
1975: She graduates from Rhodes University, Grahamstown, with an undergraduate degree in psychology and literature. Goes on to complete an honours degree in drama.
1976: Krige leaves SA to pursue an acting career in London.
1979: She completes a three-year course at London's Central School of Speech and Drama.
1981: Her first major film role is in Chariots of Fire as the Gilbert and Sullivan singer Sybil Gordon.
1981: She appears in a dual role as the avenging spirit in Ghost Story. In the same year she debuts in a West End theatre production of Bernard Shaw's Arms and the Man, for which she receives the honours of both a Plays and Players Award and a Laurence Olivier Award for Most Promising Newcomer.
1982-1983: Works with the prestigious Royal Shakespeare Company performing in King Lear, The Tempest, The Taming of the Shrew and Cyrano de Bergerac.
1988: Krige marries English writer and director Paul Schoolman.
1990: Appears in television series Beverly Hills 90210.
1996: Krige becomes the Borg Queen in Star Trek: First Contact for which she wins a Saturn Award. From now on she appears at Star Trek/sci-fi conventions all over the US and Europe (primarily in the UK and Germany).
2000 - 2004: She appears in various films, including The Little Vampire, Reign of Fire, Children of Dune and The Mystery of Natalie Wood.
2004: Krige takes on a recurring guest role in the popular and acclaimed HBO series Deadwood and guest stars in Six Feet Under, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, The 4400 and Dirty Sexy Money.
2011: She plays Russian double agent Elena Gavrik in the BBC's final season of Spooks and features in the final season of the BBC drama Waking the Dead.
2012 - 2015: Appears in the films Solomon Kane, The Sorcerer's Apprentice and Thor: The Dark World.
2016: Appears in the Netflix mystery series The OA.
2017 - 2019: Plays Queen Helena in the Netflix series A Christmas Prince.
2019: Stars with Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne in the TV series Carnival Row.
2020: Gretel & Hansel.
