Japanese-born Lalla Hirayama is a darling of the South African entertainment industry. After making her TV debut at the age of 15 on eTV she's moved on to become an actress, model, entrepreneur, YouTuber, hip-hop DJ and SuperSport host, which took her to Japan last year to cover the Rugby World Cup.

At the end of last year she added Jameson brand ambassador to her resumé, adding to her image as a woman in a man's world of rugby and now, whiskey. We spoke to the dazzling dame to find out what's currently on her radar.

MUSIC

FKJ, he blows my mind with his skill. He's a multi-instrumentalist, multi-talented, soul-stirring music creator. The man creates his music live - every aspect of the performance. Check out his performances on YouTube.

BOOKS

The Power of Now. It's an oldie but a goodie. Eckhart Tolle is one of the most important spiritual teachers of our time. This book has helped me remember what's most important and curb my day-to-day anxiety.

PLACES

Japan. Not to be biased, but if you're ready for an overseas adventure, Japan won't just leave you satisfied but may somehow change you forever. The history, the culture, people, food and fashion.

I was lucky enough to be there for two months last year and I struggled to leave. I still carry with me the amazing memories and lessons learnt there.

TELEVISION

Netflix's Locke and Key. I didn't really expect to enjoy the show so much but soon realised that I couldn't get enough of it. I got the popcorn, broke open a good ol' bottle of Jameson and powered through the whole first season.

RESTAURANT

Japa in Rivonia. A Japanese girl loves her Japanese food. Japa does it just right. It's one of the few real Japanese spots in South Africa and it's owned by a Japanese family. Your sushi is made by an authentic Japanese chef.

It's our family go-to spot and even though it's been on my radar since I was a kid, I never get tired of it.

WHO I'M FOLLOWING

South African Lord Kez, a talented and unique artist who can't really be defined. She's someone to watch.

The Kimberley-born singer is a relatively unknown powerhouse of urban music.

Her debut project, Revenge Season, came out last year and the EP caught the attention of Riky Rick. Her voice, style and offerings are something I haven't seen before. It's hard not to love what she does.
