Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy – Showmax

The first but no doubt not the last documentary to offer behind-the-scenes insight into the nefarious sexual crimes of Sean Combs, the rap-mogul Diddy. He is now the subject of a much-publicised criminal case in which he’s accused of numerous crimes spanning decades of shocking behaviour that the world wants to know who else knew about. The film tells the story of the rapper’s rise to fame, wealth, power and his long history as a predatory abuser through interviews with some of the people closest to him over the years.

The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial – Showmax

Pioneering American New Wave director William Friedkin died in 2023, leaving behind such seminal films as The French Connection, The Exorcist, Sorcerer, To Live and Die in L.A. and this final, small but tightly executed, tense naval courtroom drama based on the stage-play adapted from the 1952 novel by Herman Wouk. Starring Kiefer Sutherland, James Clarke, Jake Lacy and Lance Reddick.

Slip – Prime Video

Zoe Lister-Jones shines in this under-the-radar anti-romance dramedy series from 2023, in which she plays Mae, a woman who, when she begins to feel restless in her marriage, finds herself in a parallel universe where she’s taken the roads she could have taken rather than the one she did and realises that she has to get back to her actual life before it’s too late.

Steven Knight’s entertaining revision of the Boys Own Adventures of the famed World War 2 special forces unit returns for a second season that’s both dramatically satisfying and a solidly thrilling action romp through the deserts of the Africa campaign.

Apple Cider Vinegar – Netflix

Kaitlyn Dever stars in this takedown of the wellness industry based on the true story of wellness guru Belle Gibson who amassed a massive social media following by pretending to be a cancer sufferer devoted to finding alternative, self-care therapies to help her beat her phantom disease.
