ABOUT THE PULLMAN
Situated right in the city centre, the hotel is within walking distance of Bree Street, which was ranked the 11th “coolest street” worldwide by TimeOut magazine — full of trendy bars and restaurants. It's also close to design studios, great coffee shops, the Cape Town International Conference Centre and everything the City Bowl has to offer.
WHO STAYS THERE?
A lot of hip, young people; business types; trendy young couples; overseas travellers who want a city vibe; and girl gangs spending the weekend in the city.
THE ROOMS
Rooms are quite large and comfortable, and though it's rather corporate there's been effort made to inject them with design elements, such as the seascape wallpaper and funky houndstooth carpeting.

BEST THING
The pool deck, which has that metropolitan, city-centre feel. You can sit up there and watch the world go by below while sipping on a cocktail as if you have nothing in the world better to do.

EXTRA INFO
The Pullman is geared for business people, with six meeting rooms and a business centre. There's a free hourly shuttle to the Waterfront. The staff are really helpful and hospitable. There's a pool and small gym.
THE EATING
There are three on-site restaurants: the Piano Room, for fine dining and music; the laid-back poolside Ghibli Bar and Pool Terrace, which serves gourmet pizzas and light lunches; and the Sea Street Coffee Lounge.
The Piano Room is currently offering a three-course taste adventure featuring chicken liver parfait, prawn risotto, and a spiced pear dessert to enjoy while the pianist performs a mix of classical and jazz melodies. R495 per person, welcome drink included.
At the Sea Street Café Lounge, you can enjoy a pizza and a 500ml Stella Artois for R200.

BOTTOM LINE
The hotel straddles the line between corporate and comfort very well. It's a convenient place to stay with all the amenities of a chain-hotel, but still retains the excellent service and details of a boutique hotel. Great for a city stay.
RATES
A classic room with a king or twin beds (max two people) is around R2,040 per person per night. Rates fluctuate according to day and season. For specific dates and room types, visit the website
