Having spent time in a warehouse and on a pavement outside a Durban informal settlement, SA's most famous couch has a new home.
Two months ago the R68,000 blue couch was the subject of a meme when it was photographed in an informal settlement hours after it had been stolen from a Springfield warehouse during the unrest that swept through Durban.
Today the San Pablo corner sofa, a leather sectional item, sits in the entrance of the Leather Gallery's new flagship showroom in Riverhorse Valley, near Queen Nandi Drive.
Sydenham police recovered the blue couch on July 23.
"We have been extremely overwhelmed by the support that we have received from our customers," said Leather Gallery owner Greg Parry.
"Their positive reactions and response to our new showroom has been astounding . As far as we are aware there have not been any arrests made."
