The 10  Miss World South Africa finalists, hailing from across the country, are taking part a weeklong boot camp to prepare them for their big pageant night.

The camp started on Saturday in Rustenburg and will include mental fitness exercises, pageant and life coaching, training in humanitarian work and various competitions.

Each contestant has adopted a “beauty with a purpose” campaign. They range from activities to help curb teenage pregnancies, promoting universal access to health care, curbing food insecurity, assisting less fortunate children and using sport development as a tool to help transform society.

Miss World South Africa is owned by Carol Bouwer Productions, which has partnered with Arena Holdings to present the second year of the pageant, which culminates in the finale in October.

Bouwer, national director of Miss World South Africa, said other planned upcoming activities included a beauty expo and a fundraising gala dinner for the finalists, their partners and players in the beauty industry ahead of the pageant night.
