Hard cheese, and don't whine
Like a snail, North West premier Job Mokgoro was in no great rush to act on the collapse of governance and, as expected, service delivery in a nondescript municipality called Ditsobotla.
Despite having two mayors - albeit from rival ANC factions - Ditsobotla couldn't keep the water and electricity flowing, so dairy giant Clover decided to relocate its cheese-making plant to eThekwini.
Uncle Job dispatched emissaries to negotiate with Clover only to be told the cheese-boys are already in KwaZulu-Natal. And it's quite a job for this Mampara to get there! So, Uncle Job was given a simple job to save jobs but flunked it. Now poor Ditsobotla residents face the ignominy of jobless lives. It must be something to do with this sleepy Mampara's name.
