MISJUDGMENT AND MISDIAGNOSIS
The Pretoria News can be forgiven for getting the decuplets story horribly wrong. But what is its owner Iqbal 's excuse?
The man who likes to trumpet that he was once Nelson Mandela's doctor could have saved us from the embarrassment of a bogus Guinness Book of Records claim by asking basic medical questions.
Instead, he chose to have the purported father of the phantom 10, Teboho Tsotetsi, fly to Cape Town for a handshake and photo op with him.
He milked the moment for all it was worth, promising a cool R1m to Tsotetsi and asking what his secret was in siring 10 babies.
Now that the whole thing has been proven to be a hoax, we hope this Mampara will not pocket the million but give it to Ariffa Hussein, who gave birth to real quadruplets in Durban a few weeks ago.
