Talk about hopping mad
Chris Pappas, DA mayor of uMngeni, touched a nerve when he called out the ANC for its failure to deliver meals to thousands of schoolchildren across KwaZulu-Natal in recent weeks.
Instead of telling the public how he is going to fix the mess, the party’s provincial chair and de facto premier, Siboniso Duma, responded with an angry, convoluted speech, accusing Pappas of being a “racist boy”.
Duma was particularly peeved at the mayor referring to his looting comrades as amaselesele (frogs) instead of amasela (thieves).
Whatever Pappas really meant, Duma’s furor loquendi is no way for a so-called leader of society to respond to such an important matter.
Maybe it’s jealousy because Pappas is more eloquent than this Mampara in both Zulu and English.
