The Jordaan river is a flood of tears

Gqeberha must have heaved a sigh of relief this week that this Mampara, who again made headlines for all the wrong reasons, is no longer the metro mayor. His incompetence caused mayhem in the Banyana Banyana camp on the eve of the squad’s trip to the Fifa World Cup in New Zealand.

The head of the South African Football Association admitted having dropped the ball by not initiating negotiations with our football stars much earlier.

Jordaan and his band of incompetents had not bothered to offer the team incentives should they proceed beyond the group stages.

They also expected Banyana to play their farewell match at a stadium deemed unsuitable for PSL matches.

It took Patrice Motsepe, brother-in-law of the country’s president, to come to this Mampara’s rescue by pledging funds to reward the African champions.
