Load-shedding isn’t the end of the world, National Council of Provinces deputy chairperson Sylvia Lucas told a stunned sitting of both houses of parliament at a debate on President Cyril Ramaphosa’s state of the nation address on Tuesday.
“Load-shedding isn’t the end of the world. And I am, Mr President, one of the people who feel that, once you talk about load-shedding, they start sabotaging you,” she howled.
Who is this callous lady, you might be thinking to yourself? Well, let’s remind you.
This is the Sylvia Lucas who, as Northern Cape premier in 2013, used her official credit card to spend R53,159 on KFC during her first 10 weeks in office.
Listen here, you mampara, if load-shedding had been as bad then as it is now, your gluttonous fried chicken order would have taken much longer to arrive.
