It appears that “Education” Khanyile didn't learn anything from the three-year house arrest sentence he received four years ago for public violence.
The MK Party motormouth was this week fined R150,000 for breaching the electoral laws when he publicly declared that there would be no elections without the MK Party and Jacob Zuma on the ballot. The court found that his comments had the potential to ignite violence.
The fine was suspended for five years.
However, this Mampara quickly told the media that he would appeal the sentence as it was an attempt to muzzle him. “One of the conditions in the judgment is that I must not repeat the same sentiments for the next five years. In 2026 we are going for elections, which means on the campaign I must not say anything” — because he would run the risk of having to pay the fine.
Hopefully the Constitutional Court will shut his mouth for an even longer period.
