Callous, heartless and simply mindless. These adjectives aptly capture the conduct of SA air force chief Lt-Gen Wiseman Mbambo.
This air force guy took his army buddy, Lt-Gen Lawrence Mbatha, on a joyride to play golf at the swanky Copperleaf estate on Tuesday while troops were dying in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
They were joined by other head honchos from other SANDF divisions, including the navy. Air force helicopters were on display while they posed for social media pictures as if the loss of the lives of 13 soldiers in the eastern DRC meant nothing to them.
When Mbambo and his storm troopers were called out, they claimed the “fundraising” golf day had long been organised and could not be postponed.
Well, Mamparambambo, that was a spectacularly unwise move and certainly tone deaf!
