Henke Pistorius is unlikely to be getting a coffee cup that says “World’s Best Dad” on Father’s Day later this month.

The foot-in-mouth expert has famously been an absent father to his notorious son, Oscar. The two have never been on good terms and now, it seems, things have become even frostier.

Clearly missing the limelight since Oscar was released on parole in January 2024, Henke managed to wrangle an invite from British TV host Piers Morgan, where he revealed in an “exclusive” interview that he doesn't believe Oscar murdered his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.

“The facts just do not support a finding of guilty of murder,” he told Morgan, adding that his view had caused a rift between him and Oscar, who had "accepted his guilt".

Just what facts is he referring to? Does he know something that Oscar's legal team didn’t?

For his desperate attempt to exploit his son’s fame — and denigrate South Africa’s legal system on the world stage while doing it — this deadbeat dad is our Mampara of the Week.
